Barry Levine named Director of News at National Enquirer

Boca Raton, FL, May 17, 2010– Tony Frost, Editor in Chief of the National Enquirer, announced today that Barry Levine has been named Director of News for the publication. In addition to his role as Executive Editor his duties will now include the recruiting of editors and reporters, training new Enquirer staffers, and identifying and developing important sources in key areas. In doing so, Levine will help maintain The Enquirer’s position as America’s top investigative publication.

As the National Enquirer’s new Director of News, Executive Editor Barry Levine will be involved in directing every major news story covered by The Enquirer.

“This is a well deserved reward for Barry, who has displayed his excellent instincts and first-class news gathering skills on two of the biggest stories of the past decade—John Edwards’ love child and Tiger Woods cheating,” says Editor in Chief, Tony Frost. “Following the Edwards and Woods stories, The Enquirer is by far the hottest publication in America and we plan to break even bigger celebrity and political stories moving forward,” says Barry Levine.

Levine will continue to be based in the New York City offices at American Media, Inc.
